The Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for Mercury set by the USEPA is 0.002 ppb. With Boris' Mercury Check™ you can easily test to ensure that your water is well below this level. This test Detects ultra lows of Mercury from the ranges of 0.0-0.08 ppb. SenSafe® Boris' Mercury Check™ is great for process testing and ideal for detecting unsafe levels of mercury in drinking water. This test will only detect Hg+² ions in the sample. Other metals will interfere.
The precise colour chart is found on the back of the bottle and no other reagents or accessories are needed for this simple test. We use trace amounts of chemicals on our strips which makes them extremely safe and non-hazardous. They are considered as Articles under OSHA and do not require SDS sheets.
Note: this test will only detect Hg+2 ions in the sample. Other metals will interfere. *The Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for Mercury set by USEPA is 0.002 ppm (2ppb) and this test strips can test for levels as low as that.
