Simply the best and easiest way to test the hardness of water.
David J.
Best water testing strips out there.
Lamaan P.
The strips remain yellow regardless of the hardness of the water. Despite following the instructions carefully these do not work
John G.
Does what it says on the box. Tap water 450 ppm, softened water less than 10 ppm. A good test for checking that water softener is working.

Good value and a quick result for the water hardness

I use the Total Hardness strips on a regular basis to check the effectiveness of my water softener and have found them to be very reliable.

Prompt delivery of goods which were exactly as ordered

These work fine for an approximate value of water hardness in parts per million, provided your colour vision is pretty reliable. That's because you need to compare the colour of a strip that's been dipped in the water with a chart printed on the tub. Since the colour chart is discrete (0 - 40 - 80 - 120 - 180 - 250 - 425 - 1000) you can only say with confidence that the sample lies somewhere between the 2 values either side of the strip colour. That's fine if you want to check that a water softener is working correctly, for example, which is what I use them for.

This is a very simple way to test water hardness. Just dip one of the test strips in the water and compare the colour change to the control panel on the container. Thi gives a good indication of how much water softener or washing detergent to use.

Great test strips that turn darker the harder the water is so an accurate way to set up your water softener. mine, in common with most if not all, regenerates against a given volume of water used, the hardness setting was factory set and nowhere near high enough to give me properly softened water. I re-set it to a high value and over a couple of weeks gradually reduced it to where it now delivers soft water and uses minimal salt. These strips are expensive, but so is salt.

Just moved to a new place in a hard water area and needed to determine which taps and cisterns were fed via existing water softener. This test kit quickly solved the problem.
Willie C.
Works well, compared water before and after the softener.
Easy to use. Recommended
Marwah D.
I use for the water softener quarterly quality checks using water directly from the mains as a control sample. Always gives a reliable result.
Rhiannon S.
This test kit is very easy to use - a paper strip with a yellowish compound at one end is dipped in the water for 3 seconds and the ppm read off against a series of coloured squares on the outside of the can - the squares are darker as the calcium carbonate ppm gets higher. The squares are numbered in ppm, from 0 to 1000 in 8 steps, the last step being from 425 to 1000ppm.

Shows the water hardness - what more could you ask for :)
Kadeem A.
Easy to use,very good.
Colby W.
Far far better than using tablets. The 50 strips give you 50 tests. With tablets you may need 5 or 6 for each test.
Imaani M.
Used for testing the performance of my water softener and have proved to be very accurate. Early problems with the settings on the water softener have now been resolved by the installer and I have continued to use the strips to check that it continues to work properly.

Our GP advised us that we lived in a hard water area. This was news to both my wife and I.
Being a gadget lover I need confirmation and found these beauties, which seemed excellent value for money if they worked as well as the reviews suggested.
As soon as they arrived, it was straight to a test, and hey presto!, we have hard water running through our taps, just like the GP said.
Being of sensitive skin, I am now researching water softeners!

These test strips are very useful for determining water hardness in domestic & commercial water supplies. I have a new professional coffee maker where you can set the water hardness for the machine to lessen the scale build up, so the machine works more efficiently.
I travel a lot and it`s interesting to note the hardness ratings throughout the country.

Does what it says

These little strips are so easy to use and establish the relative hardness/softness of your water. Just dip the end in a half inch of water and after a few seconds read the colour against a set of colours on the container to see how hard your water is.
Shauna W.
These are great and appear accurate. Had problems with meter readings not correct and did the job of accuracy. Would recommend.
Mckenzie H.
Does what it says, tests water and ideal for using with domestic water softeners. Easy to use.
Madeline B.
I used it to adjust our water softener, upping the frequency of regeneration from 3 days to every day. Much better than just guessing..
Priya R.
They work. Haven't used a hardness kit for a long time, but from memory these seem to produce the same results, so good enough I say!
Lilly-Rose E.
Bought these to check that a newly installed water softener was working - wow - what a difference. Works even better than a brand new Britta filter. Very accurate.
Taryn K.
Does what is says on the tin
Alysha B.
These little test strips are so much less messy than mixing chemicals or adding pills to a bottle of water; And cheaper to boot. A great idea that works very well.
Momina N.
Would recommend this product. I have a water softner and wanted to be able to test the water now and then to make sure all was working well. They are very easy to use and very accurate. Had no problems with the seller.
Jibril C.
This is a very good and easy to use product, fit for purpose. I needed to check if my device which reducess the water hardness works properly after being maintained. The method with the test strips worked perfectly.
Bret B.
I have recently moved into a property with a plumbed in water softener and find the water hardness test strips to be an excellent simple method of testing the Water Softener
Eden D.
need these for testing very handy instead of the drop bottle method
Brenden K.
I bought thses to verify my water softeners effectiveness. It would seem it's working fine and so has saved me a small fortune on a new unit or resin exchanges
Herbert C.
est strips do exactly what they should - determine water hardness. There are plenty of them in the box and the price appears to be reasonable
Aras S.
Does what it is designed to do cannot really say more than that
Fahima W.
Quick clear test. Can see the difference of our softened and unsoftened water.
Harvir D.
Perfect to check the hardness of my tap water.
Arrived fast.
Jacqueline G.
Easy to use and gives rapid, clear result. Useful to have the results chart printed on the container - no risk of losing it!
Princess D.
proved my water softener is still working!
April S.
Delivery to Switzerland took about a week. Packaging was good - not too much or too little. The test strips do what is promised. Will definitely buy here again.
John B.
Very quick and easy to test water hardness. At the hard water end of the scale, it requires a bit of interpolation to estimate the reading with any degree of accuracy but not really a problem.
All-in-all very happy with the kit.
Stephen R.
Easy to use and understand
