There is a precise colour chart on the back of the bottle to check and understand your results. This simple TDS colour test strip is a pool water check test and allows you to test for TDS: Total Dissolved Solids, defined by NSPI (National Spa and Pool Institute) as: “a measure of the total amount of dissolved matter in water, e.g. calcium, magnesium, carbonates, bicarbonates, metallic compounds, etc.” This allows you to test your water for simple maintenance.
Notes: When TDS levels in your pool or spa are high, cloudy water, corrosion, and scale can occur. High TDS levels can also reduce the efficiency of chlorine and affect pH balance.
